Raped at Gunpoint - Episode 3

If you did missed the first and second episode, please you may click here for episode 1 and  here for episode 2.

She felt the pain all over again. How did she get here? is the difficult question she couldn't answer. She just wanted to go to Lagos for an interview. So why does she keep hearing people sneer at her with that mean look on their faces? "Oh God help me!" She tried to pray but the words won't just push past her throat. And then she heard a sound, putting to an end the whimpering of the people around. Everyone seems to be too sacred to lift up their heads. They were all lying with their  faces on the down, some shaking badly.

She felt cold and wondered why is she not putting on anything. Of course this wasn't how she left the house late hours of the morning. This doesn't feel right and she held the voice again "I'm here, I promise to stand by you, you need to know that." He felt her hand being squeezed, then released gently, as if he knew, if he squeezed harder, he will hurt her. "I don't know why God had to arrange for us meeting this way but I know, I won't let anyone, not even a fly hurt you ever again."

She wanted to ask him "why is he making such promises." But she felt too far away and that made her panicked. She could feel it as it rose through her blood stream. She wanted to shout for God's help. That's one way she and her family has been sustained. She needs him to loosen the tight knot of nerve endings that seems to define her very being. And why isn't Him answering? Or has she done something wrong but then His word says His mercies endureth forever. Efe struggled to make meaning of the torture she was going through but couldn't get past the numbness of her mind.

Why didn't they listen to her, when she asked them not to bring her here again? This place is a terrible place to be. She struggled to get up from the hard ground and someone hit her hard on the head. She screamed out as the memories came rushing like a gush of wind. "No," she struggled to block them out but they broke down all her barriers. And the tears came rushing as she tried, no, they tried to plead with the arm robbers holding their bus hostage. She wished she had waited one more day before embarking on the journey, she would have saved herself this ordeal. Lack of sensitive and sheer stubbornness have leaded her in the most horrific pit.

That morning her mother had tried persuading her but she won't listen. And of course she didn't listen to the discerning spirit either when she was asked to go to another park. Now, there's no way out except God. Even with Him, she felt too beat down to have faith. So much for being an intercessor and a preacher of righteousness. She mocked herself as the robbers asked everyone to get down from the car and lie down, bringing to an end the wonderful argument she was having with her seat partner......... To be Continued and hopefully, it'll be lengthy as from next week. Cheers!
