Warri-Effurun Rounabout Boils as Motor-Park Workers Clashed Over Leadership.

Today, there was a serious clash between the two factions of the NURTW; National Union of Road Transport Workers in Warri-Effurun motor park in the morning of 19 September, which led to the exchange of gun shots and vandalisation of about nine cars.

Ono pink journal gathered that; After the impeachment of the former Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State Chairman, Henry Baro, by the Delta State House of Assembly over alleged financial misappropriation and breach of public peace within his council area, there has been a bid to over throw his boys  heading the park. This bid was carried out yesterday and the leaders of the park were overthrown.

Today, The set of NURTW workers that were overthrown returned with reinforcement to assume their position, which lead to the conflict that occured this morning. And they succeeded.

Speaking with one of the drivers who wishes to remain anonymous said; the fight is not just over who have to head the park but also with the Local Government Council over non-remittance of dues paid by motor park users. It was gathered that all NURTW workers have to return back to the main park at P.T.I junction.

NB
Smart gadgets with dumb batteries prevented me from taking more photos but hopefully later there will be an update on this. Please do stick around. Cheers!
