Conflict Between Delta City Transport Drivers and the Government.

There's an ongoing conflict between the drivers of the Delta city transport and the State Government over payment of revenue which most of the drivers refer to as "settlement."

The State transportation was introduced in the dispensation of Udughan-Otuoma to ply within the major towns of the state and within the main cities such as Warri and Asaba. Presently many of the drivers, especially within Warri axis are complaining that the amount they're being requested to pay is outrageous compare to what they make daily. Hence some haven't being able to meet up with the payment.

The buses of such drivers have been ceased and they have to go to Asaba to pay up before their buses will be released.

Speaking with one of the drivers who wishes to just be referred to as Mr Lucky said; he has decided to hide his bus because he is under the radar and if he is caught, he will be facing the same predicament with his counterpart.

The bus initially meant to carry 3 passengers per seat has been increased to accommodate 4 because of the levy.

One of the passenger who was forced to alight from the bus faster than lightened flash to prevent those in pursue of a bus said; their lives are presently at risk because the high of drivers that are being chased.

Hopefully, the Government will look into this quickly before any serious diaster occures as a result of buses being chased on the express.

Thanks for stopping by, cheers!

  1. This is outrageous really, isn't it?!
Why oh why do those in power never realize (or even care) that their actions are putting so many lives in danger?
Seems to me it all about money.
Money has become some kind of God...and human life is worth nothing.
Such a sad state our world is in.
Makes you wonder if it could get any worse...:/

Many thanks for another great and thought-provoking post!

    Have a good weekend. :))
