Gov Okowa Allegedly Plans to Sack Staff of Urhobo Origin in DESOPADEC - Report

This publication was written by Sanco Ese Darlington an addict member of the ruling party All Progressive Congress APC, alleging the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa plans to sack staff of Urhobo origin in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC. Reports reaching us is that okowa has commenced move to sack workers of urhobo origin working with desopadec.

As we speak they are already meant to undergo screening were they are requested to write the name of their ethnic nationality. it is also worthy to note that since Okowa assumed office as executive Governor of Delta state he has never hidden his hatred for the Urhobo people having said in different occasion that the Uhobos are the only obstacle militating against his governoship ambition come 2019.

Sequel to this he has been working with enemies within and outside the Urhobo nation to perpetuate hardship and roll out policies that is anti urhobo.

 It is on record that most members of his cabinet of Urhobo origin has been rendered useless in the discharge of their official duties. As it is now there is tension in the rank and file of PDP in the state because of the governors resolve to clamp down on all Urhobo politicians and by extension neutralising the political efficacy of Chief James Ibori political dynasty.

It is within the contemplation of the governor that the Urhobos irrespective of their party may resolve to come together and work for a common urhobo candidate when Ibori finally returns from prison because of how the Urhobos have been marginalised and treated as second class citizens in a state were they control absolute majority.

I want to also use this medium to call on the state government to re access the derivation formula currently used by DESOPADEC in the distribution of resources for Host communities. it is our believe that Urhobos are the highest producers of oil and gas in Delta state but that remains an issue for another day as we in HOSCOM are determined to prove that in the shortest possible time.

We also want to condemn some enemies of Urhobo nation parading themselves illegally as HOSCOM members who have maintained a conspiratorial silence while after given approval to the state government to sack staff of Urhobo ethnic nationality in DESOPSDEC. We will surely resist this devilish conspiracy as the Urhobos can and will never be the victims of your cluelessness and maladministration. We will not tolerate the sack of any Urhoboman or woman under the guise of any administrative bottleneck.

 We call on the state government to investigate this issue with a view of finding an acceptable solution in other not to add to the hardship and insecurity that will emanate from this unholy inspiration from the enemies within and outside the Urhobo nation.
