House of Rep in Agreement with President Buhari to Negotiate with Boko Haram for the Release of Chibok Girls.

In the month of July, during an interview with CNN President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his willingness to negotiate with the terrorist group Boko Haran who have held captive more than a year ago a group of young girls from the Chibok community in North-East of Nigeria. It is generally accepted no country government should negotiate with terrorist but drastic measure have to be taken inordr to give these young ones a chance to live a normal life.

According to a member of the House of Representative, Mr Akeem Adeyemi, who represents Afijio/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West Federal Constituency, during his interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday urged President Buhari to negotiate with Boko Haram for the release of the abducted Chibok girls. He stressed the importance of saving the lives of the school girls abducted by Boko Haram more than a year ago.

He also stressed, that; the Federal Government should focus on negotiating for the girls release only.
“However, if it is about the Chibok girls, I support negotiating with Boko Haram. Life is precious. Anything that will bring the girls back is in order.
“Outside that, we should not negotiate with them. By the way who are we negotiating with? They have no agenda; nothing! They say they are anti book, yet they kill uneducated farmers. They say they are muslims, yet they kill Rasheeds and Ibrahims innocently selling goods at markets in the North East.
“Meanwhile, with Buhari who has deep background in military and security, I believe we will soon end them (Boko Haram).

Former Lagos State Governor, Fashola Personalized website Costed $400,000
News report that former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola shelled N78.3million of Lagos tax-payers money on his personal website, has stirred a huge buzz on twitter.

In tweets and retweets, commentators have been expressing derision and disgust that the former governor could have approved such a questionable expenditure under his watch.
The consensus is that the cost was grossly exaggerated and over-inflated.
A WordPress website, like http://tundefashola.com/http://tundefashola.com/should not cost more than N3million, according to expert opinions.
The story was broken by BudgIT, quoting a budget report on the website of the Lagos State Public Procurement Agency.
The contract was awarded in 2014 to “Info Access Plus Limited”. A Google search by TheNEWS did not turn anything out about the company.

The capital city of Benue State, Makurdi, is currently flooded after a six hours heavy downpour which lasted through the night. More than 130 houses have been submerged in the flood and properties swept away. The flood occurred as a result of blocked or non proper drainage system.

Areas critically affected by the flood are; Demekpe, Wadata Rice Mill, Achusa Village, Agboughoul village, Mobile Barrack and Logo village. And this has left many of the people worried over the warning of an impending release of water from Ladgo dam by Cameroonian which may affect communities along the River Benue. EFCC Arrests New Generation Bank Workers Over Alleged N3.6 billion Fraud Case.
A crack team of operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday, August 6, 2015 arrested one Kato Ifrahimu Nyam and Godwin Odali, both staff of a new generation bank for conspiring to defraud the bank to the tune of N3.6bn (three billion, six million naira) with an e-payment mandate purportedly from Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The suspects, who operate as syndicate, sometime in June 2015, through their cronies submitted an e-payment mandate of N1.4bn (one billion, four hundred million naira) to Zenith bank and Access bank Plc. The banks, sensing a foul play after noticing some abnormalities on the e-payment mandate discretely contacted the Ministry of Agriculture Agriculture for confirmation and authentication of the document. A response from the Ministry showed that, no mandate was sent to the banks. Hence, the EFCC was contacted for investigation.

A six hour downpour yesterday left many parts of Makurdi, the Benue state capital, flooded with close to 150 houses submerged in the late night rain that lasted till the early hours of Friday.
Among the areas badly hit by the flood were Demekpe, Wadata Rice mill,  Agboughoul village, Mobile Barrack, Achusa village and Logo areas of the town.
The flood which submerged several houses in the affected areas also swept away property of many families who were seen battling to save whatever they could rescue from the flood waters.
Saturday Vanguard discovered in most of the areas visited, that the devastation was occasioned by blocked drainages and non availability of proper drainages in some of the affected communities.
One of the victims of the devastation, in Rice Mill area and a father of three, James Ojudu, told Saturday Vanguard that the flood took them by surprise, stressing, “we were actually not prepared for this, because we’ve not had serious rainfall in Makurdi since this year.
Saturday Vanguard recalls that a few weeks back, the Permanent Secretary in the state Ministry of Water Resources and Environment, Engr. Nathaniel Alaaga had disclosed in a radio programme monitored in Makurdi, that the state government had put measures in place to avert  possible flooding of parts of the state in the event of any heavy downpour.
The development has however left many families worried especially with the warning by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, of an impending release of water from excess water from Ladgo dam by the Cameroonian authorities which my affect states and communities along River Benue.

More Than 30people Perished and many Injured in Kabul Multiple Bombings.
On Friday, the city of kabul in Afghan capital witness a devastating, multiple bomb blast which left more than 30 people dead and hundreds others with sever injuries. This happened to be the militants first major attack, since the announcement of Taliban leader Mullah Omar’s death.

The first attack occurred after mid-day as a truck full bomb exploded at the centre of kabul, killing 24 civilia  and leaving more than 200 injured. This was followed some hours later with a suicide bomber, dressed in Kabul police force uniform, who blew himself up at the entrance of the police academic, killing 20cadets.

The Insurgents (Taliban) have claimed responsibility for the attack, which indicates a serious breach of security at a premier training institute for Afghan security forces. According to security analyst  Abdul Hadi Khaled. "The new wave of attacks is a tactic by the Taliban’s new leadership to show they are capable, potent and operational,” He also added "The demise of Mullah Omar divided the movement and affected the morale of their ground fighters. Hitting Kabul with a wave of powerful attacks is a way of showcasing their strength."

Have a fruit bearing day and don't forget "life is worth living and people worth loving." Cheers!
