Raped at Gunpoint.

Efe Akpore wanted to get up from the ground, it was too hard for comfort. But she couldn't, as she felt the heavy weight on her and suddenly the pain tore through her sensitive part. Frantically she struggled. How did she get here and why couldn't she stand up? Why does she have to bear this burning pain and watch the horror unfolding before her? Yes! Its a bad dream, she needs to wake up before she gets killed.

Then, she heard the command to be still, the cries of fear, followed by the encouraging whispered words of apology. This was too much for her numbed senses to understand. She needs to wake up from this dream.  The pain was receding, that she could take solace in. As the man in the shadow or men she couldn't figure out, started laughing loudly in an evil manner. Suddenly, she saw him raised his hand above the weight that has been pinning her down and a choked cry tore out of her throat.
"No more" she cried out, thrashing and fighting for survival, she forcefully snapped open her eyes. It so exhausting, she thought. It took quite sometime to move to comprehend where she was. Finally, she did moved her head, she could but just see a white painted wall with tiny window above the opposite side of her bed with a beautiful flowered cotton blocking the fierce sun ray. She was still trying to get her wits together when a lady walked in a bubbling steps into the room.

One look at her pristine white uniform, Efe knew she was in the hospital. With that realization came the tears rolling down her cheeks. It wasn't a dream, but her reliving those painful moments of shame. She can't  continue living, not afterall that has happened. She ought to be six feet under, instead of showing her face outside.

"Thank God, you're awake, everyone has been mightily worried about you." The nurse said with a beaming smile. But Efe couldn't reciprocate, not with the heavy weight on her chest. Her lips felt parched, her eyes soured from long hours of crying. " I want to die." She said.
The nurse wasn't shocked to hear her say that. Infact, she was sympathetic. "I know how you must feel now, but...." "Don't you understand?" she cut her off. "I want to die, give me those." She made a dive for the drugs tray.

The nurse quickly shouted for assistance. And within seconds, she was held down to be induced. "No, please don't take me back there. I need to be awake, please." Her pleas fell into deaf ears as needle pierced her flesh, inflicting a little pain which brought more tears flowing down her face. Before dozing off, she mumbled "I want to die."

The nurses exchanged worried glances and the first one answered the unspoken question "she'll live." That moment a corporately dressed young lady rushed into the room, "how is she nurse?" She asked breathlessly. "She will make it but needs all the love you can offer and more." she said, heaving a deep sigh "That won't be difficult to give" came the baritone voice of a gentleman at the door way. Both ladies wailed round to look at him. The nurse with a mixed smile of sympathy and relief and the young lady with a confusing look...... To be continued.
Cheers!
