Psalm 28:7: The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him,
and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song
will I praise him.
Isaiah 51:9: Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord; awake, as in days of old, the generations of long ago. Was it not you who cut Rahab in pieces, who pierced the dragon?
Proverb 39:5: "Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
The atrocities happening in the world today shows the dragon spitting fire is set to destroy the world and gradually consuming people directly or indirectly. Or how else do one explain the evil men commit against each other without remorse. Each day, one gets to read terrible/sad stories about the ills of this world and wonder how did some people become so heart hardened. That's because the dragon, which is the serpent, Satan the devil, the ruler of the world in his subtle ways has deceived and given his power to them. And until the coming of the end of the world when he will be seized and caged, he'll keep deceiving as many that are gullible.
That's why Christians need to pray for the Lord to be our Shield against the evil around us. So, that we don't get to be consumed by it. The fact, that you've being exempted doesn't mean you have to wait until its at your doorstep before asking the Lord to be your shield. Each day, there are fiery darts being released, the enemy do not want to relent but our GOD is strong and might and more than able to keep us safe. Let's ask Him to;
- Be our shield against the fiery darts of the enemy/the spitting fire dragon
- To fill our heart with His Love, so that there may be no room for the devil.
- To raise a standard against the enemy as they come like a flood.
- To torment, persecute them planning to persecute us
- By His mercy, may His presence never departs from us.
Stand in the gap for your loved ones, Christians, the lost souls and the world at large.
Steps to follow
- sing songs of thanksgiving (praise and worship) for God deserves our praise. Psalm 5:11
- study the scriptures above
- then make your supplication known to God beginning and ending with thanksgiving. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Intercession
1 Timothy 2:1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people.
Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in [your] prayers to God for me; Romans 15:30.
Let's be part of his or her testimony/success story. That as the Lord liveth, we will get to read or hear of the testimony of His great works upon the writer that he or she has being granted admission into the institution he/she seeks and has brightened his/her life. And as we join him or her in prayers, I see God supplying our need(s) even before it(they) arise(s).
What aileth thee, let's join together to pray for each other needs as job did and the Lord turned his captivity around. Job 42:10: And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
