Happy Sunday everyone, I've been battling if I should share this story or not but on a second thought I realised there's need to. I've heard about Christians who sow seeds and end up complaining about how they were presurised or persuaded and I'm like "dem put gun for your head." Seed sowing is a great way to express your love for God and you sure will prosper (1 Kings 3). So, for you not to loose the blessings that comes with it, you must have a conviction from the Holy Spirit and the faith before giving. Okay! I've preached my part, let's get down to the story. But do understand I'm sharing this so that you can be wise as a Christian whether you're just a member or the general overseer (GO) of the church.
Don't crucify me biko lol! because I will leave some details out, I don't intend to depict negativity. A man in one of the big churches in Lagos axis used his only building to sow seed during a financial prosperity program in his church. He was expecting a big contract. So, he decided to give the house knowing houses will be of little concern to him after he gets the contract. His wife went about talking and ranting and reported it to his family. Of course, he was not moved and refused to ask for the papers back.
Six months later, the church came to him to evacuate the property, that's when this man changed his mind. He was broke, didn't get the contract or yet to and having a roof over his head was the consolation he had. He went to the church to explain but the church asked him to still move. Of course, the wife didn't make matters easy for him. Desperately, this man went to the military base and lied to being persuaded into giving the papers of the house. The military went with him to the church and parked, watching as the man started threatening the GO and church workers. "Head will roll, if you don't bring out my papers." He ranted. Shortly, a worker brought the papers to him and the story was silenced. And yes it's a true story of an Urhobo man, a Deltan in Lagos.
Biko, you shouldn't sow because you're told to, sow because you love God and your heart is convicted of it. As for me, part of sowing is my service to God and it'll be a blessing to get to His house of worship this Sunday morning, oops! running late already. So, see you in church. And don't forget "life is worth living and people worth loving." Cheers!
