Where is God in This?

You've been ALL you think He wants you to be, done all His Word instructs you to do, and as much as even the "terrible ones" ascertain your "goodness", they still seem to have it better than you: a seemingly working relationship, a man/woman that actually cares, promises getting kept - and you wonder, "Where is G..." **be still my soul**

You're now the object of concern because everyone expects some spitting-and-bulging right about now; one year after the wedding, they make excuses for you; two years, they start praying for you and your husband; the third year, they want to start digging up your past "credentials". Quite frankly, you know you've not been the perfect one (well, who has?), but your walk with the Lord since you found Him has been bump-free. Now as these storms brew right before your eyes, you can't hold back the thought, "Where is God?"

With all of the testimonies of breakthroughs around you, it's no news that God's in the neighborhood. And with all your time and commitment in His service, it shouldn't have been so hard for Him to find you...after all He's God! But the jobs aren't coming and the bills keep piling up, and you know you can't question God so you ask me: "Where's God in all this?"

I'd love to be frank with you for a bit.
God is right there with you in the thick of it. Yes He is! He promised: "When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end— because I am God,...your Saviour" (Isaiah 43:2 MSG)
When you serve God, He pays! But when He pays you in cash when you actually want a spouse, then you need a blessing. And when it's a blessing involved, it's none of you and ALL of God. So throw away all your service credentials and rest trustingly on His love alone. After all, if God didn't hesitate in giving up His own Son for us, what wouldn't He gladly and freely do for us? (Romans8:32)

There's a lot more to this, like your confessions and expectations, your past (whether good or bad) which became all useless when you received Christ, and so on. But as life's issues boil before your face and you begin to fret, just remember He's with you and working something for you. And while you're waiting for Him to open the next door, please praise Him in the hallway.
