Why an Igbo Man Will Never Choose to go to War Again.

Okay! I had a good laugh and a serious thought over the conversation that ensued in the cab I was riding in, on my way from work. My fellow passengers talked non-stop about the appalling state of our nation; from terrible state of power supply to poor governmental leadership, funds thievery, lack of security and finally Biafra.

One insisted that the Ibo's are warming up to start  another civil war, especially now that the nation security system is weak. An elderly man countered that report stating: The Igbos will not want to go to war again because of what they stand to loose in the process. An average Igbo man in the buying and selling system is worth some good amount of money. Not to mention the ones into import-export business of millions/billions. he insisted that; When an Igbo man consider his wealth, which will probably go into the drain if war should break out, he will not want to be in support of another war " a man with no money or properties, sees no value in living." Other strong points of disagreement were made by the young gentlemen, who refused to agree with the elderly man. Abeg! my hand too heavy to write those ones, biko, Lol! Well, come to think of it; what's the need to pay a huge price for war when a peaceful words of mouth and understanding that one won't need to pay for can bring about peaceful co-existence? And do you think the elderly man is right?

  1. No one is warming up for war nw. The ibos honestly dnt have that in their agenda ryt now, an average ibo man is at least comfortable. But unfortunately, even a blind man can see the extent of tribalism and marginalisation the ibos are subjected to in this country, it doesn't take you being a seer to know that one day, they would have it up to their neck. That is the unfortunate reality. The country is getting more and more tribalistic and corrupt and usually when things like this happen, the marginalised ones wil take matters into their hands. I think separation is an inevitable and perhaps fortunate reality this country will have to face. In all honesty, some tribes have nothing in common with others, except that they are both living in a country called nigeria. No love, no unity, no sense of national pride. The ethnic divide and lack of trust between tribes is just on another level.
