Early Hour News: Refineries in Nigeria Commenced Petroleum Production

- According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC); the refineries in Warri and Port-Harcourt have commenced production of petroleum after undergoing 9months rehabilitation conducted by some in house engineers.


- Stolen oil money presently amounts to $13.7 billion as stipulated by  the executive secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Hajiya Zainab Shamsuna-Ahmed. According to her; between 2009-2012,  about 160million of barrels of oil which is at the value of $13.7billion was stolen under NNPC. And also stated that from 2005-2012 oil subsidy paid to NNPC amounted to $11.63billion, yet there are  no evidence to show the money has been remitted into the federation account.

- Fr Ejike Mbaka celebrated 20years of priesthood yesterday. The controversial cleric is the leader of the Adoration Ministry Enugu and he  was showered with words of kindness from the presidency, in statement released by the presidential media aide; Shehu Garba.
He said: “Mbaka is a great priest who is not afraid to speak truth, even at the cost of his own life or being hated by those in power. He rose to the occasion to add his voice in support of good governance and identify with ordinary Nigerians in the face of despair and uncertain future. Though honest opinions attract hostility from leaders detached from reality, history would be kind to Father Mbaka for courageously speaking truth to power, even at great risks.”
