The clock chimes the hour of five. Darling realizes it is time to wake up to a new day but couldn't find the energy. How many times as she tried? She asked herself. Maybe she isn't cut out for this or the witches in her village had made sure of that. In the midst of the riots of thoughts, dissatisfaction in attending yet another fruitless interview knowing good grades doesn't matter when you have no top personnel to render assistant. As the thoughts keep wheeling round her head she Grudgingly dragged herself off the bed to pray. Then the anger creped in, questioning the need. Afterall, she has done this countless times and yet it hadn't made a difference in the past. Of course, 'God will have mercy on whom He will have mercy' she quoted the scripture scornfully.
Quickly, she rushed into the bathroom and through her daily activities and was about rushing out of the house when she reminded herself 'life is good because she is alive to have hope.' So, no way will she step out of the house without saying thanks to Him who has made it possible. She knelt down and prayed and thanked God for his grace upon her and family. Somehow, she kept at it longer than she had wanted to and ended it with 'thank you Lord for a new day and another job interview.' And with that, she had peace to step out, no fear of what anyone has or will do because God is right there with her or else she won't even be alive to be attending interviews.
The crowd as usual was enormous but there was orderliness. When it was her turn, she put fear aside, straightened her skirt, squared her shoulder and with firm steps but a tender smile walked into the room.
Two days later she was called to pick up her appointment letter. Shocked and shaking with unbelief she went and immediately she walked into the office, a lady who was part of the team that interviewed her smiled and said 'the girl with the confident of conquering the whole world'. And she heard the quiet but bubbles of shattered laughter. She got the job because she chose to stop fearing the outcome but concentrate on the process. A full army squad with guns and bombs won't have made her back out because that morning she had thanked God for that which he has given to her. And for that, He has given more. "For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion Romans 9:15; I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift,
nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet
riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time
and chance happens to them all, Ecclesiastes 9:11."
In all of the trials and tribulations, the Lord will give a break in time. Expect the best for this day and the week ahead. Love you and happy new week. Cheers!
