Civil servants that were suspended by Governor Okowa over violation of established rules and regulations in the Civil Service, have taken to the street to protest and threatened to lock up offices if their case isn't given an immediate attention.
Asaba witness almost an ugly scenario yesterday when the suspended civil servants of Delta threatened to lock up the office of the S.A to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Labour matters; which is the person of MR. OKEME.
Meanwhile, as the angry suspended civil servants got to the office of the S.A, they discovered that he wasn't on seat. However, the said the director of the office pleaded with them that within two consecutive weeks they will create a calm atmosphere in which the suspended civil servants can have a meeting with HIS EXCELLENCY SEN. Ifeanyi Okowa , in order for their suspension to be lifted since June 1st, 2015 by the Okowa led administration.
Being as it may, the said civil servants sang their solidarity songs and matched to the Labour House in Asaba, where they stampeded some of the labour members , but was resolved by the secretary of the House on Labour matters. The Secretary assured them that he would get in touch with Mr. Governor in order to know the way forward.
"ALuta never
dies," the suspended civil servants also took their protest to the
office of the Deputy Governor, who was also not on seat but a permanent
secretary came out and addressed them exclusively and gave them a date
to meet with the Deputy Governor comes next week.
