Amaechi Screening Delayed by Senate Again.

For the second time the Senate has delayed the screening schedule of Rotimi Ameachi who was the former Governor of Rivers State and also a ministerial nominee.


This action was taken by the Red Chamber because of the delayed submission of petitions report against Amaechi by Simon Anyanwu-led Committe on Ethics and Public petitions.

Senator Anyanwu had informed the Senate President, Bukola Saraki moments before the commencement of the Wednesday plenary by the Senators that the report of his committee which received and treated petitions against Mr. Rotimi Amaechi was still not ready to be submitted to the floor of the Senate.

 The Senate President has asked  Senator Anyanwu to ensure the committee’s report was ready the next day.
