Don’t Get your Life Stalk by the Need to Talk.

I am fulfilling my promise to share some unique day’s article on one of the most used daily devotional ‘Our Daily Manners’. I got to know how one’s life can be stalk (put in danger) because of the need to talk especially when one talks out of point. Today, you’ll get to learn all about “The Secret Power of Silence” as taken from the book of John 19:1-12.

“Legend has it that the hawk first carried the baby of the duck, but it discovered that there was no reaction from the duck, it then brought it back, fearing that there was something dangerous about the silence of mother duck. After that, it attempted a fast one on the fowl. He carried a chick and immediately, the mother hen followed after the hawk halfway and went back. Seeing this, the hawk left with the chick saying that the mother hen had done its worst. What is the lesson? There is more power in silence sometimes than in shouting. Tao Ching said: “That the yielding conquers the resistant and the soft conquers the hard is a fact known of men, yet utilised by none.” Ralph Waldo Emerson further stated that, “A man should study ever to be quiet. He make his inferior his superior by heat. Thomas Jefferson noted that, “Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain cool and unruffled in fortune or misfortune.

The silence of Jesus (John 19:9) created fear in Pilate and he wanted to release him. Eccl 3:7 declares that there is a time to keep silence and a time to talk. Pray for the grace and wisdom to know when to be silent as you encounter people and the battles of life this year and as you go out daily. Isaiah 30:15 says: “In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.” There are times when shouting and fighting are signs of weakness. Ecclesiastes 9:17 says further: “the words of the wise men are heard in quietness more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.” Study to be silent and quiet, for they are the virtues of Kings. God speaks for the man/woman who holds his/her peace. Never forget that: your ears will never put you into trouble. Listen more and talk less”.

Basically learn not to put your life in danger by always finding the need to talk. Not every time your opinion is needed. Talking isn’t what will attract people to you or make them love and respect you but your show of wisdom and maturity will speak louder than millions of spoken words. Be wise! Cheers!!
