Trench to Quench your Thirst.

What a man thirst for will determine where he will be found. His cravings shoot from his thirst which will direct his/her set goals, the means of pursue and the outcome. The gravity of the thirst enhances the urge to acquire what will put an end to it. And it is when a man is thirsty that he goes in search of what can quench his thirst.

Many people cravings today are reflected through the things they do and what they say. However, not everything a man craves for is good for him/her. In the world today I beg to write that too many things we crave for end up doing more harm than good in the life of many because of the high level of intoxication, lust and obsession as the world continue to advance in all ramifications. What’s right or wrong has become too difficult to differentiate because people do not or chose not to know the difference anymore.
Take a look at this conversation paraphrased from the 1995 movie, The American President, talking about the people’s thirst for genuine leadership and finding none....
“Lewis: People are so thirsty they'll crawl through the desert toward a mirage, and when they discover there's no water, they'll drink the sand.
President Andrew: People don't drink the sand because they're thirsty. They drink the sand because they don't know the difference."

It is very easy to be blinded when thirsty, everywhere might look like likeable places to find what can quench the thirst like the children of Israel quarrelling with Moses and demanding to go back to Egypt when they thirst for water in Exodus 17:1-6. But the Lord God, the rock of ages made provision to quench their thirst. Psalm 78:15-16 He split the rocks in the wilderness And gave them abundant drink like the ocean depths. He brought forth streams also from the rock And caused waters to run down like rivers, Exodus 17:6.Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

One thing about what we thirst for in the world today is the consistent occurrence, it is ceaseless and temporary. It doesn’t matter where we get to quench the thirst, so long it is somewhere in this world, you’re bound to thirst again and probably be too blind to find the right trench. Do not despair yet, for there’s hope because The Lord Jesus said “whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life John 4:14”.

There is a time frame for what we crave for in the world today. This has blinded many from seeing where to go seek for the trench to quench their thirst. Let your search to temporarily quench your thirst be over with, for the Lord Jesus said in the book of Revelation 21:15-16 “Then He said to me, "It is done I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son”.

I pray as we seek out the Lord Jesus to quench our thirst; the beauty of His works will show forth in our lives. Cheers!
