Words as Life Reforming Swords.

Life is full of strains that can easily thwart one's efforts and ruin future plans but in fuller measure are the restrains in your possession depending on how they are voiced. And how one tend to those strains. Haven't you heard or read that the words you speak will either make or mar you?

Let’s view it from the story of Thomas Edison according to today’s morning devotional ‘Our Daily Manna’ (ODM) by Bishop Chris Kwakpovwe Ph.D,  which focused on discarding the report presented based on human views on life battles.

Scripture taken from Lamentation 3:27 – 41
A story is told about young Thomas Edison who came home one day with a sealed paper for his mother. He told her “my teacher told me to give this sealed paper only to my mother.” Thomas’ mother read the note and her eyes filled with tears. Thomas asked his mother what the note said, and she read aloud, “your son is a genius. This school is too small for him and doesn’t have enough good teachers for training him. Please teach him yourself”.
That’s exactly what Thomas mother did; She home schooled her child with devotion and dedication. As the story goes, many years later after Thomas Edison’s mother passed on, and he was now one of the world’s greatest inventors, he found a folded paper among other family items. He opened the very same paper that had been handed to him to give to his mother and read the following message “your son is mentally ill. We won’t let him come to school anymore.”
At that moment, Edison realised what his mother had done for him so many years ago. He wrote in his diary: “Thomas Alva Edison was a mentally ill child that, by a hero’s mother, became the genius of the century.” In the book of Proverbs, we learn: “the words of reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing” (Proverbs 12:18). Can you imagine what might have happened to Thomas Edison if his mother had read to him the reckless and hurtful words written by his foolish teacher? He might never have invented the light bulb or made many other contributions to society.
Likewise, you determines to TEAR OFF YOUR MIND every report, evidence, event, circumstance that is CONTRARY to what God has promised you. Today’s scripture verse 37 says: “who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not?” indeed only God has the final say! Stay positive! Stay fighting! Stay ambitious! Stay strong! Stay focused! Refuse to be average! Don’t get side tracked by people who are not on your track! Don’t focus on your weaknesses; they are God’s manure for your tomorrow! Never allow success to get into your head! Never let failure get into your heart! Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? None! You will get there! Hold on Hold out! Cheers!
