He is handsome, rich and the perfect gentleman, who expects
ladies to worship the very ground he walks upon. And she was good at doing
that, along with many other ladies on queue. But he made her understand that
she was the special one. Years
passed; she kept praying he'd love her enough to give up on this lifestyle.
There are days she’d walked in on him in the act and of course he'd pleaded
with all sorts of gifts. She was insulted, scorned by friends and family. Yet,
she kept going back.
She knew she wasn't getting younger, but love held her bound to him. Because of the freedom he'd lose, he wasn't ready to settle. Now she's 31 years with a man she had been dating for 8 years when another appeared as a guardian angel. She hadn't expected the ATM to debit her without paying, and she had nothing left on her. In the midst of the confusion, her angel witnessed and he decided to help. That day led to many outings and finally an engagement ring. All this while, Mr. Handsome never bothered to check on her. Of course she'd return when she's tired of missing him.
She didn't love her new man much but he was ready to give her reasons to try. Then the wedding day came and it was beautiful. In the mix of saying goodbye to friends and family and embarking on their honeymoon journey, her phone rang: Mr. Handsome weeping and asking for forgiveness. He was finally ready to marry her. She just needed to say the where and when, and it’s a go. Unfortunately, he was late. Yet, he didn't believe, until her mother and others confirmed it to him. She waited for the dreaded feeling of regret for not being patient enough to wait, but it never came. At that moment she realized she had actually held herself bound all these years. Now true love had set her free and forever she'd love and worship the man (her husband) who came to set her free by just loving her.
Patience is a good virtue but wisdom is profitable to direct (Ecclesiastes 10:10). Cheers!
