Attaining and Maintaining an Elevated Lifestyle.

In life, it is better not to attain a high level instead of arriving there and crashing down again. The fall from a great height is always a very hard one and not to mention the mockery one will be subjected to. I believe some of us have witnessed someone having to deal with such difficult situation and probably too short of words or means to render help. However, there are ways to attain and maintain an elevated lifestyle.

Giving: Proverb 11:24 says: There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. It takes giving to be blessed and continuous giving to remain blessed. My pastor made me understand after God’s blesses, there’s absolutely nothing you need because all things will be made available. So do not be like the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21 but be wise and learn to give to your parents (it doesn’t matter if they are more wealthy), friends, the needy, those the Lord has used to bless you, to the church to expand the gospel of Christ etc. Remember the Lord loves a cheerful giver.
Humility: Proverb 16:18 says: Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.  Pride has only one destination and that’s destruction. Remember the value of money is nothing compared to the legacy of a good name. And when you have both the Lord will constantly exalt you, no matter how hard the wicked may try to bring you down. Of a truth, wealth easily intoxicates; remember again the story of the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21, so much wealth got him all pompous. However, it all ended here on earth. It didn’t take him to heaven.  He lost it because of his inability to handle and control himself. That’s the position some have found themselves today. Humility is not just in giving to people but being able to share in their grief instead of scorning them from the great height you think you have climbed upto. By the way, if the Lord could take you there, He is still prepared to take more people even to greater height. So Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1 Peter 5:6.
Work and study: Proverb 14:23 says: In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. Getting to the top is easier than staying on top. So, never relent in working hard because you have climbed higher. And also in studying because no knowledge is ever lost. If it is not useful today, it might be tomorrow. I always encourage people to set harder goals after attaining the previous ones.
Speak the Language of Elevation: The language of elevation is what is called ‘the positive talk, thoughts and mindset’. It will enable you expect the best to happen and keep happening. Which means your thoughts, mindset and what you say must be in line with what you do. Positivism is the breeding ground for your faith which determines your confession and inturn determines your possession.
Keep in touch with your Source: Deuteronomy 8:18 says: But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. It is so sad how easy it is for a man to get dedicated to God when he is in need but quick to find excuses to avoid His presence when in abundance. If you do not keep a plant watered it will gradually die. Never lose focus of your source because you always need Him to sustain you. Take a look at the ministers, they constantly seek the face of the Lord for new revelation to feed the church and the artist that needs to come with new captivating ideas. The moment you lose touch with Him, is the moment the enemy will come striking. Hold and keep holding on to God to climb higher and higher in life.
Have the most fulfilling week and remember I care and will continue to keep you in my prayers. Be kind to same for me and our nation. Cheers!
