One day something happened, while resting safely in the presence of one
of his family member, he was tricked and abused, yes he was sexually abused by
one of his family member. Suddenly his totally secured wall began to fall, his
safe refuge started to collapse and gradually safety wasn't so safe anymore.
Safety disappeared and its neighbour called FEAR took over. He became
scared, afraid of everything, a fear that started from being alone grew to fear
of everything; he became afraid of height, he was scared that if he was too
high, he would fall, he became afraid of the dark, he became afraid of being
alone, he was afraid of sharp object.
Everyday, these fears grew and he continued to live in bondage. He ran to
the church but unfortunately for him, the pastor decided to preach on 'hell and
the horrors of hell', after that service he went home more scared than before, now
he had one more thing to be afraid of. The fears became so much that he thought
of killing himself but then again, he was afraid of 'Hell'. With every passing
day, life became worse for him and it seems there’s no way of escape until he
decided to:
Revolve: It
takes the earth 365 and one fourth days to complete one year revolution round
the sun (a bit of geography to drive home the point). No year appears twice,
once an orbit is completed, that marks the end of that year. Hence, you need to
revolve round that situation. I didn’t say rotate because it will time to get
over what you’ve had to deal with. It is alright that you can’t seems to let it
go right now but you sure can as you move away from it each day until the pain
is no longer piercing. This is done by trying to think less of it each day. The
thoughts will come, opening up the wound afresh but you should learn not to
dwell on it when that happens. Have a tape that says “keep of” for such
thoughts in your mind.
Fill up and
Practice: An empty space can easily be filled with whatever comes in want.
Hence you need to occupy your mind with relevant issues that will give no room
to the irrelevant ones. You have to make conscious effort to study scriptures
that can help get over the enormous feelings such as 2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of
power, and of love, and of a sound mind. Read it aloud and keep telling yourself repeatedly
until you believe it. That was what the young man learned how to do and he went
further to read about Daniel’s boldness even in the den of
lions, he read about the three Hebrew boys and the flames and how they weren't
scared, he read about who he was and how God had promised to protect him, he
read the hundreds of 'fear not' written in the scriptures.
This was all he needed, and put into practice what he read. He stood up
with all the confidence and boldness in the world, he walked to the kitchen, picked
up a very sharp knife and looked for something to slice, he walked into the
dark and said 'I'm not afraid of you', he went out on the street, looked for
the highest building, he climbed it to the top and screamed at the top of his
voice," I AM NO LONGER A SLAVE TO FEAR, I AM A CHILD OF GOD" #2
timothy 1 Vs 7 for God has not given you the spirit of fear but of power, love
and of a sound mind. Do you know that the King James Version has 'fear not'
written 365 times, meaning that for everyday God wants you to fear not.
