Why are you a Christian?

There is so much happening in the world today that has given everyone reasons to worry irrespective of their religion. People are seeking the easy way to live life and yes to crush the enemy under their foot. They focus so much on how to conquer the enemy, they actually forget how to live life. In so many churches today, the prayer points being raised and the attitude of prayer will make you have a re-think to what Christian living is all about. Yes, out of five prayer points, three will be centred on killing the enemy if not four. The enemy aren't just allowed to be your enemy by your Creator, our God but your elevator because it has become obvious, many remember to run to God when the enemy is in pursued,  And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the LORD, as ye have said, Exodus 12:30-31. 

The messages are in the same line with the prayer points. This is making me worry so much these days as to why individuals choose to give their lives to Christ. Why do I have to worry? Because, despite knowing God, the characters of many are yet to be reformed. Have you ever heard someone say 'And I thought she was a Christian' because of the attitude being exhibited by that individual. Christians need to redefine why they chose to live the life of Christ because that's the only way to reform the character of all Christians. In all sincerity, why are you a Christian? Did you give your life to Christ because you fear what the enemy can do to you without knowing Jesus? Or you got attracted because of the prosperity message? It is alright if you came because of these but now that you are here, there's need to learn to focus on whom you have come to serve and to promote his kingdom Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?Matthew 6:31. and 33; But seek you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.The enemy won't let you be if you do not have this understanding, neither will the prosperity answer to you without genuine love for our saviour, Jesus Christ.

Again, I ask why are you a Christian? Is it just to pray and slap or flog the enemy to death or to love God and ask for the salvation of whom you consider an enemy? Is it just to live in great wealth and health but to spread the love of God abroad? Re-evaluate your reasons and remember that in all of it, God comes first. And living a Christ like life have to encompass your entire entity. It is to show in all that you do. If you do not know how to reform, then ask God to help you find your way. Besides, there are preachers who still talks about truly living and enjoying life as a Christian without having fear of what tomorrow will bring because God is right there to make all thinks beautiful and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.
