While saying Moore’s comment is ‘politically incorrect’ Novak Djokovic
suggests men players should be paid way more than female players because they
have more spectators. Although, he observed women faces challenges that men do
not including battling of hormones.
Super star, Serena Williams has slammed Moore saying no ‘no
woman should be down on her knees thanking anybody for that'.
Williams further called Moore’s comments a disservice to her as a woman
and every other woman walking on planet earth.
However, Moore has apologised after Serena blasted him during a press
conference following the tournament saying 'Those remarks are very much mistaken and
very, very, very inaccurate. And there’s need for Moore to have good knowledge
of historical information before making such outrageous comments.' She said laying emphasises
on last year women’s final at US open, Serena said
“Last year the women's final at the US Open sold out well before the
men. I'm sorry, did Roger play in that final or Rafa or any man play in that
final that was sold out before the mean's final? I think not.”
Williams added: “So I just feel like in order to make a comment you have
to have history and you have to have facts and you have to know things. You
have to know of everything.”
“I mean, you look at someone like Billie Jean King who opened so many
doors for not only women's players but women athletes in general.”
Over the years she has been told by fans that she and her sister were
the reason they developed interest in law tennis and definitely not because of any male player. So she owe no one appreciation for her success.
Despite having issued a hasty apology the social media isn’t about to
let Mooreoff the hook so easily as many are presently demanding for his sack or
resignation.
