Recently, Udu Local Government in Warri Metropolis, Delta State asked all women into sales to be paying N150 every day. It doesn’t matter what you’re selling (hawking). You will pay even if all the interest you made that day is just N150. The women of course are protesting seriously against it but with the various elements at work in the government will their voice be heard? Besides, with what tricycle riders did they are today, buying tickets N200 each day, despite the fuel troubles.

Hijacker of EgyptAir Jet Releases all Passengers except Four Foreigners and crew members, Seeks Asylum in Cyprus.

Egyptian airlines flight MS181, en route from Alexandria to Cairo, has been hijacked by a passenger with a Belted suicide bomb, who forced the pilot to land in Larnaka Airport, Cyprus. There are reportedly 81 passengers and crewmembers on board the plane.

In December, 2015, 12 companies, which include; China Railway 14th Bureau Group; Alstom, Gauff Gmbh, CCECC, SREI Infrastructure Finance, Atom Services, China Railway International Group, Sino-Hydro Corporation, the Infrastructure Bank, China Camce Engineering, China Rail/Medhal and Daxi SA Charleroi were prequalified to bid as developers and operators of the rail-based mass transit for Kaduna metropolis by the state government.

As part of its urban renewal programme, the Delta State Government has approved the engagement of a consultant to carry out a feasibility study on monorail Transit system in the state capital territory.

The Delta State Governor, Sen. I.A. Okowa with his deputy, aides and entire entourage spent the day inspecting on-going dualisation of roads in Asaba. At the Cable market, Agog, many of the traders showered praises on the governor over Cable Point Road Dualization. He also visited Warri South and Okpe Local Government Areas, promising to intervene in the reconstruction of failed portions of the Benin-Sapele-Warri Road.

Delta State Government Evacuates BRT and BusTerminals in Effurun-Warri

The Delta State Government under the administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has yielded to the plight of commuters to evacuates BRT and bus terminal and all road demarcations along Effurun-Warri/Sapele Road constructed during former governor Emmanuel Uduaghan administration. The construction of the bus/BRT terminals is considered a failed project because of the heavy traffic jam on the roads.
