The Chairman of Africa Independent Television (AIT), Raymomd Dokpesi, was arrested today by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), over the
spreading arms purchase scandal involving the office of the former
National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki and the theft of N2.1billion
from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
He was arrested sometime after noon and taken to the EFCC, where he is now being interrogated.
According to report; CBN paid N2.1billion to the AIT chairman based on instructions given by Mr. Dasuki.
Mr. Dasuki, has also being arrested and taken into custody by Nigeria's Secret Police. He was picked up by agents of the DSS and taken into custody at their "Yellow House” headquarters near the Presidential Villa in Abuja for allegedly withdrawing $2.1 billion from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation in the dying days of former President Goodluck Jonathan’s regime.
