Delta State Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has charged House of Assembly members to channel their constituency projects to the renovation and construction of schools in their areas and such other facilities dear to the people.
Governor Okowa stated this [16-12-15] in Asaba when he received a report on the "Needs Assessment Tour of Sixteen Communities in Patani Local Government Area" embarked upon by Hon. Timi Tonye, member respresenting the constituency in the House of Assembly.
He frowned at the deplorable living condition of people in the
communities visited and promised to do everything to meet the health
needs of the people.
He urged members of the State House of Assembly to embark on similar Needs Assessment of their constituency to enable government know the true situation of things and formulate effective policies and programmes that would positively affect the lives of the people.
Senator Okowa disclosed that his administration has approved about 300 million naira for the construction of he Uduophori Road in Patani and called on the people of the local government to be patient with government as it was committed to the delivery of dividend of democracy to every part of the state.
Earlier, Hon. Timi Tonye, thanked Governor Okowa for his support for members of the House and promised to partner with government in the development of his constituency.
