The Ruling Family: Liberian President Appoints Son as Head of Central Bank.

Liberia’s central bank confirmed Thursday it has appointed the son of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as interim governor despite his previous suspension from the institution for failing to properly declare his assets.

Charles Sirleaf was deputy governor of the bank until his promotion to interim governor on Wednesday, but in 2012 was temporarily suspended on his mother’s orders for breaching declaration rules.

China Puts an End to 1 Child Policy - State Media.

Couples in China are to be allowed to have more than 1 child as from 1 January 2016. This is to help curb the looming population crisis in China which has affected the work force over a long period of time. The policy to have just 1 child has been upheld for many years until a law was was signed on Sunday, 27, Dec to put an end to it and couples are to have atleast 2 children.

Inter-Communal Crisis: Traditional Rulers to Meet and Resolve issues.



DELTA State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has urged traditional rulers to wade into issues of inter-communal crises to ensure good neighbourliness and peaceful co-existence in the country.

Governor Okowa made the call today (15/12/15) in Asaba, when members of the Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers paid him a courtesy call.

According to the Governor, the traditional rulers in crises areas could meet on their own to resolve their differences. He stated that settling disputes amicably goes a long way to boost love among the people, encourage development in the communities, the state and the country.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday levied fresh charges bordering on money laundering and criminal breach of trust on former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki; a former Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda; a former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa; Mr. Bafarawa’s son, Sagir; and others.

Bill Clinton Aide, Evelyn Lieberman, who Moved Monica Lewinsky from White House, Dies at 71.

Evelyn Lieberman, who as the first woman to serve as deputy chief of staff to a president grew concerned about the behavior of the junior aide Monica S. Lewinsky around Bill Clinton and banished her to a job outside the White House, died on Saturday in Washington. She was 71.

Breaking News! Sheik El-Zakzaky Found in Hiding with Injuries as over 100 Shiites are Arrested by Nigerian Troops.

According to SaharaReporters; A confirmation has been made by the News room that Nigerian troops earlier today found the embattled leader of Nigeria's Islamic Shiites, Sheik Ibraheem Zakzaky, at a residence in Zaria where he had been hiding since Nigerian soldiers shot at his followers, killing more than 100 of them, including a son of the Sheikh.

Accident Along Warri-Effurun Roundabout.

This news happens to be a testimony because I was close by when it occurred. Honestly, after running a 24 hours duty, I do need to sleep but somehow I felt the need to write this news/testimony. Yesterday, in a bit of a rush to meet up with studio schedule and relieve those on duty, I crossed the road at Warri-Effurun roundabout. I barely made it to the other side with a dear colleague who was with me when we heard the screech of tires and a bang.

President Muhammadu Buhari is presently facing the difficulty of how to ensure the judiciary does not frustrate his plans to bring an end to corrupt practices in the country.

Death Toll of Jos Collapsed School Building Increases.

The death toll from the Islamic school building in Jos which collapsed last Sunday while students were taking lesson, affecting children between the ages of eight and 15 has increased to six persons, from the previous four persons that were confirmed death on Sunday.  This was revealed by the North-Central Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Mr Abdulasam Mohammed, on Wednesday.

Early Hour News: Refineries in Nigeria Commenced Petroleum Production

- According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC); the refineries in Warri and Port-Harcourt have commenced production of petroleum after undergoing 9months rehabilitation conducted by some in house engineers.
