And out of
range
The odd
weight
Keeps many
in fear.
The heart
tightened
As the mind
became frightened.
A tentative step
A tentative step
To seek for
help
Too soft to
hold firm
Caused a
silent wish for herm
A walk
around
The long way
to go.
The toil of each day
Tore a piece away
It is so insignificant
It’s never noticed
Until old age comes calling
And one realises
It didn’t happen in one day
It was the unseen ridge
on a bridge.
