Focus on Issues that Unites us with our Neighbours - New Olu of Warri tells Journalists.

The newly crowned Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Ikenwoli has charged journalists in Delta State to focus on issues that unites Itsekiri Nation with her neighbours instead of writing negative stories capable of promoting bitterness between Itsekiris and their neighbours.

The royal father gave the charge Monday December 14, 2015 at his palace in Warri during his maiden press briefing to thank journalists for the support and cooperation accorded him before, during and after his coronation, even as he assured that his palace would remain open to newsmen with competent men on ground to handle all issues that needs clarification before publication.

He said the palace is prepared to work with the media in a very symbiotic manner to ensure a win-win situation for all groups and persons. While restating his loyalty to the Itsekiri people, he promised never to betray their trust and confidence, just as he guaranteed providing true and transparent leadership that would not engage in any matter that will embarrass the Itsekiri people.

Ogiame Ikenwoli maintained that he would operate from both the Warri Palace and the Ode-Itsekiri (Big-Warri) palace for any matter that requires him to do so at any given time and maintained that the fragile peace being enjoyed in Warri would be improved upon.

Earlier, the Ojomo of Warri kingdom, Chief Yayah Pessu gave out the correct title of the Itsekiri monarch to be, "His Majesty, Ogimae Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri" and warned that the palace would not take it lightly with any media that corrupts the name henceforth.
