First Beauty Queen Emerges in Iraq after 43years.

A new beauty queen emerges in Iraq today, since 1972 as the jury of Miss Iraq chose a 20-year-old, tall and green eyed Shaymaa Abdelrahman, from the city of Kirkuk in Iraq.

The excited girl in the midst of warding off admirers clamouring take selfies photo with her said; "I'm very happy to see Iraq going forward, this event was huge and put a smile on the faces of the Iraqis."

The decision was an acceptable one by the audience especially the young men back stage.

The contestant made sure to be modest in their dressing and other activities. Most of them wore gowns that were sleeveless but below the kneel as they present their charity projects. The judgement was based on what they said and did than on glamour.

The young winner promised to use her fame to forward educational initiatives, especially among the massive population of people who have been displaced by conflict.

The event which took place at Baghdad hotel ballroom met with enough international criteria to propel its winner to the next Miss Universe contest, but some details, such as the Kalashnikov-toting guard at the door, set the event firmly in Iraq.
