What to do when you Hate your Job but cannot Quit.

The graaaa graaaaaaaa sound of the alarm slammed Julia with consciousness. She wished she could sleep on for hours, even months and only wake up when she has found another job. One, she will be happy to wake up to do. However, that is not to be because, wishes do not make people rich, find jobs, put food on their table, shelter over their heads and clothes on them. It takes work and some more work until much or greatness is achieved.


Sighing deeply, she rolled out of bed to begin her daily chores. Even though this is not what she wants, she knew for her to become or get what she wants, she has to do what is needed. Right now, this job is her financial support system to go after her degree. It has made her a person with greater hope and faith. Shoulders squared, skirt strengthened and a smile on, she stepped out to get the day's job done.

So, here is what to do when you hate your job but cannot quit

See the job for what it is
See it for what it is, a passage. In our educational system, there are subjects or courses we don't like but made to offer. If one fails such a subject/course there will be no promotion or graduation. So, we study hard to pass just to graduate to the next level. Let that job be one of those courses while it lasts.

Work through it
Let us get scriptural here by looking at the life of Jacob, who eventually became richer than his boss who is also his father in-law. Check Genesis 30:43 (read entire chapter for better understanding). How did he work through the situation of deceit with his in-law? By making the best out of it. You don't have to like it to do it. You just have to work hard enough to be better each day.


Live through each day
Take it one day at a time. Do try not to picture your future still doing this job, it is a good way to be unhappy and your unhappiness will rub off on everything. I am sure you do not want to be sacked even though you cannot quit. If you must think of the future, do it strategically by planning how to ensure  you will find something of your choice.

Find the Lesson
There is always something to learn from every situation. Learn as much as you can, gather information and acquire knowledge that could help you when you finally set sail to search and find the right job

Be Happy and positive
Happiness is not only determine by the happenings around us but the interpretation we give to it. You hate this job, that is already known and you can't quit for certain reasons hence, find something positive about the job to focus on, for example, the salary could be a good one, your colleagues might be nice people etc.

Basically, make the best out of the situation, use the time to build and prepare yourself for a job that will be more suitable later.
